Everything you need to know to get started in Leathercrafting! The class will cover the different types of leather and the methods of working leather from a basic hide into functioning utilitarian and artisan products. As an introductory project, we’ll be making monogrammed keychains. If you have a more ambitious project in mind, please bring your own leather.
Members $15; non-members $25. This includes the materials cost for consumables used during the class. We will provide the tools for student use.
The member price is for paid members of Tampa Hackerspace. Information on becoming a paid member can be found on our website. If you’d like to facilitate things, you can prepay for the class at our Square Marketplace.
Your intrepid instructor is J Kent, a certified blacksmith and leathersmith who has also done work with bronze/aluminum casting as well as epoxy-resin casting. He trained in art at USF and can touch his nose with his tongue.
