Remember, we’re not just about making stuff. We’re about making connections, too!
Members of Tampa Hackerspace enjoy the following benefits included in their membership:
We’re thrilled to have you join our community of makers!
Before you join, come to an Open Make Night so you can tour the facility, meet some members, and see everything we have to offer.
Head over to Wild Apricot, our membership portal. There you can start your digital membership and fill out the required paperwork.
Keep your eye out for a welcome email with next steps. After completing all the online paperwork, come in for a New Member Orientation during one of our weekly Open Make Nights.
Still have questions about joining our space? Check out these frequently asked questions, or send us a message.
Every Tuesday from 6-8 pm, we host an Open Make Night. This open house event is for visitors to come and tour the facility.
New Member Orientations are also held on Tuesdays starting at 6:30 pm. This is when new members learn the rules and restrictions, how to access the space, and general safety information. Access cards are issued at the end of these orientations.
Tuesdays are the only time when our volunteers are regularly at the space for tours and New Member Orientation.
If you can't make it to an Open Make Night, don't hesitate to reach out about scheduling a different time! With enough notice, we can usually find a volunteer to give you a tour or to assist with a New Member Orientation.
Please remember that we are a volunteer-run organization. While we are happy to work with your schedule, our volunteers are donating their free time to help.
The short answer is yes.
We ask you to come in for a tour before signing up so you can get a feel for our community.
We are not a tool rental shop or manufacturing facility. We are a collaborative community of makers who all pitch in to help keep this space running. As a volunteer-run nonprofit space, it's important that our new members understand this before joining the space.
We're happy that you're so excited to join us!
You sure can! You can bundle up to three people in your membership for an additional $25/member.
Each member will have their own access card and can sign up for classes. However, each member is also required to complete the onboarding paperwork, New Member Orientation, and any prerequisite safety classes.
You are allowed to bring guests with you to the space, but they are not allowed to use any tools or equipment without a membership and completing the required safety sign-off classes.
Children under the age of 18 may not be allowed to use all the areas of the shop without a parent or guardian present. Please contact us for more information about minor members.
Remember, we’re all volunteers. It may take a day before we can get back to you.
